On View
Jan. 3- Feb. 28
We are excited to present photographers Lisa Dimondstein, Julie Parker and Sandra Shenk in Abstract^2.
These three women artists are dedicated to radicalizing the photo as image.
Having explored the work of abstract sculptor David Stromeyer at The Cold Hollow Sculpture Park, in Enosburg Falls, they were inspired to abstract from multiple sculptures with the aim to capture the essential properties and relationships of his original abstract forms, and in doing so they remove themselves from any context or specific content or representation. Their in- camera multiple exposure technique involves eliminating any reference to real-world objects or situations and focuses on the intricate relationship between color, texture, movement, line and form.

Mad Arts values the social responsibility of linking art to people; together across boundaries, to balance voices and open multiple perspectives. We operate with the understanding that art supports the agency to create story, a sense of belonging, and is a means to synchronize ourselves with the natural world.
