Call For Entry- EARTHEN

'CALL FOR ENTRY' EXHIBITIONS, 2024

We are excited to share our 'Call for Entry' platform with CaFÉ.org. These calls are known as local, national, and international juried art competitions. In order to apply for this year's show called EARTHEN on the subject of clay we request interested artists to set up an account with CaFÉ for FREE. Upload a few recent works from your art portfolio. Once you have an account you will be sent all kinds of 'calls' or opportunities.

Art calls are opportunities for you to get your work visible at the state/national/international level. We encourage you to create an annual art exhibition budget for calls as one way to advance your professional art career for the potential to obtain awards and gather press on your work.

Artist calls are $35 to enter. Artists have the opportunity to win first, second and third prizes.

If you need an art consultation on what to submit from your portfolio, please email info@madrivervalleyarts.org, attention to Sam Talbot-Kelly, Artist/Executive Director, or call 802-496-6682, or visit us at the gallery Tues-Sat. 1-5pm. You can also request to be included in our newsletter for future opportunities.

EARTHEN is an interactive show about the material of clay, form and culture.

Humans have grown up with clay, it has been with us since the beginning of our evolution on earth. It is sustainable, natural and useful in several practical ways from serving to protect, build and carry our food and plant life in the most beautiful ways. Its value in our lives continues to grow as we learn more about its potential purpose in domestic interior design, medicine, architecture and as a construction material. It is therefore integral technologically to our present and future lives.

How do you design with clay? How has it transported your artistic practice into experimental ways of perceiving the world? Have you inherited your clay practice from your ancestors? What and who inspires you to make with clay? Submit strong photos of your ceramic art. We are looking for experimentation and conceptual expansion with clay as material.

This submission opens January 23, 2025. Exhibition: May 29-July 31st. Apply by May 1,  so that our jury of curators can make thoughtful decisions on entries. Please visit the call for entry on the platform link above.
